I provide individual consultation to clinicians hoping to deepen their experience and practice of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy on both a one-time and ongoing basis, and can tailor our work to focus on specific areas of expertise or patient populations, such as ACT for chronic pain, or ACT for working with shame. I offer a 6-session series that is focused on each of the core processes of ACT; each session includes readings, experiential exercises, and consultation on how the principles might be applied in existing cases.
I also have experience providing didactic or experiential workshops and trainings for a variety of audiences: undergraduates, graduate students, nurses, medical residents and physicians, and allied mental health practitioners.
Common topics have included :
- ACT for Chronic Pain
- Working with Personality Disorders in Medical Settings
- The "Sick" Role and Chronic Illness
- Mindfulness & Chronic Pain
- Psychosomatic Disorders
- Mental Health correlates of Stigma and Homophobia
- Mental Health correlates of HIV/AIDS
- Contextual Behavioral Therapy and Sexual Minorities
Further, I have been trained and certified in the American Psychological Association's HIV Office for Psychology Education (HOPE) Trainers program, and with advance notice I can work with your clinic or program to seek APA-approved CEs for any trainings I provide related to HIV/AIDS.
